I started my quilting journey when I decided to make a quilt for my cousin, my daughter, and me out of my shirts that belonged to my dad who passed away in January.  It's been a huge undertaking for someone that's really never even sewn.  I started out with 4.5" blocks that ended up too wonky to proceed.  I've cut down the blocks to 6.5" with sashing made of a light beige color with more small blocks of daddy's shirt fabric at the corners.  I started cutting up shirts in March.  I got a lot of cutting done at a retreat in June.  I've got the rows put together for one full quilt.  I've cut down all the blocks for a second quilt and now I'm starting to cut down the large blocks to 6.5" blocks for the third quilt.  I'm excited to get back to the quilt after a busy summer.

I took a class on how to make pillowcases with a french seam and have made two for birthday gifts, one for a mom-to-be, and four for great niece and nephews.

I have found youtube videos to make "mug rugs" and I'm looking forward to making these.

I bought Christmas fabric to make sets for my Mom and my cousin. These will be using charm packs.

I also have fabric to make a tote bag from another youtube video.  This video uses a "jelly roll".

I'm going to post pictures as soon as I remember how to do all this blogger stuff.

If anyone reads then, THANKS!!
Kim
