This is some of the 8.5" blocks being trimmed to 6.5" blocks

Here are a few of the trimmed down 6.5" blocks with a bit of the sashing attached.  These will be put together to make rows.

Here are the first rows.  There are only enough to make 1 quilt.  They still need shasing between the rows to make up the quilt.

Here is the remainder of shirt fabric from Daddy's shirts.

I've worked on a few other projects lately.  I've been working on trimming blocks down. There are only a few more to go.  I'll then start back adding sashing.

I took my projects to my friends house yesterday.  I cut the fabric for four pillowcases for our bed.  They go well with the fabric in the bedspread.
I also started sewing on a Christmas table runner for my mom.  I used my friends sewing machine.  We thought the foot was a 1/4 edge foot but, it turned out to be 3/8.  I had sewn about 20 together when I discovered it.  Luckily, there was enough of the fabric to make two table runners so I'll use the remainder of the fabric to make Mother's table runner and use my handy dandy stitch ripper on the others and maybe, if I have time, I'll make me one.
Janet was finishing up on the binding of the Halloween quilt she started for her grandson.  She finished it up with loads of leftover fabric so we make two pillowcases and a Halloween treat bag.  It all turned out really cute.  I ended up leaving my iron at Janet's house.  Gotta run by tomorrow cause I need it for my work!!

I'm going to make another of the treat bags for the daughter of one of my colleagues.  She is nearly 3

Well, closing for now!
Have a great week!
I'll post again later!

I started my quilting journey when I decided to make a quilt for my cousin, my daughter, and me out of my shirts that belonged to my dad who passed away in January.  It's been a huge undertaking for someone that's really never even sewn.  I started out with 4.5" blocks that ended up too wonky to proceed.  I've cut down the blocks to 6.5" with sashing made of a light beige color with more small blocks of daddy's shirt fabric at the corners.  I started cutting up shirts in March.  I got a lot of cutting done at a retreat in June.  I've got the rows put together for one full quilt.  I've cut down all the blocks for a second quilt and now I'm starting to cut down the large blocks to 6.5" blocks for the third quilt.  I'm excited to get back to the quilt after a busy summer.

I took a class on how to make pillowcases with a french seam and have made two for birthday gifts, one for a mom-to-be, and four for great niece and nephews.

I have found youtube videos to make "mug rugs" and I'm looking forward to making these.

I bought Christmas fabric to make sets for my Mom and my cousin. These will be using charm packs.

I also have fabric to make a tote bag from another youtube video.  This video uses a "jelly roll".

I'm going to post pictures as soon as I remember how to do all this blogger stuff.

If anyone reads then, THANKS!!
